inspiration is not a luxury.
inspiration is a key component of life.
it’s not a luxury nor is it a something to be sought out in the midst of comfort. inspiration is the thread that connects us to life in the depths of challenge. it is a sacred source of connection to the creative wellspring from which we originate. inspiration is a necessity for our mental, spiritual, and physical health.
what inspires us individually is as unique as our spirits are. discovering what feeds our creativity and drive is a significant part of our inner work. because underneath sorting through pain or trauma, there is a deep need to find the things that feed our souls, the things that make us so beautifully unique.
the thread that weaves the fullness of Life together is done so by the inspiration of the weaver. and I like to think the weaver has a keen eye for color, a love for rich aromas, texture, and taste, and sound. I mean, there’s no real reason why we’re surrounded by such variety and depth of beauty. things could be black and white and still function.
i like to believe that the beauty there with a deep, deep purpose: to inspire us to see our own beauty in any given moment.
the vibrant colors reflect back to us our own vibrant spirits. the blossoming flowers demonstrate the beauty in our own vulnerability. the drum that makes your hips move syncs with the drumbeat of our own hearts. the wind’s songs illustrate our own innate ability to move through difficulty with grace.
finding our source of inspiration will guide us through challenge and lead us to ourselves with depth of purpose.
there’s so much beauty to revel in. it’s part of our job as human beings to marvel at it all.
my source of inspiration is tapping into the sweet, seductive nectar of life. the part of life that plays with mystery, pleasure, and the truth of darkness. the sweet, unstoppable dance of life that carries on whether we decide to let our hips sway or not.
i tap into that inspiration by surrounding myself with beautiful, badass women, honey, and flowers. being around women who know themselves gives me undeniable sense of grounded inspiration. when i hear surety and grace through the echoing sounds of a woman, i feel like i’m connected to the great dance of life.
where do you draw inspiration from? why?
